October 2006 Wrap Up

October 2006 miles = 119.7

This is the lowest monthly mileage yet for 2006, yet it is right on par with my average for 2005. Months with a marathon in them really suffer for overall mileage, with the big taper week before and recovery week after. The remainder of the month I've also purposely cut back to give my hip some time to recuperate. For the most part it seems to be working.

I think I am going to continue to keep my miles on the low side for the rest of 2006 and then begin to ramp things up in January 2007 for my spring marathon.

I'll join you on keeping the mileage down. This was definitely my lowest October for the past 3-4 years.

LOL. That mileage is AWESOME. So sorry you are suffering :-) You've done more in two months than I have all year. You are the MAN!!

Oh, my, mega-dittos on this one, Darrell. It sounds very odd, but marathons are brutal on the monthly milage totals.

I do think we have a long run set for December 2...then we can further rest up for a good 2007, eh??!!

Sounds like a solid plan Darrell. I'm trying to figure out what to do for mileage in the next three weeks to be ready for the next one.

My numbers for October were also the lowest for the year and that's okay. Like you Darrell, I'm planning for a spring marathon. Training begins in about 2 weeks...so, I'll be logging some miles in the USA during our family camping adventure/odyssey next month. Incidentally, we won't be headed to SoCal - just too far this time out. I would love to visit with you guys though and am sure that day will come.

Take care friend.

Hey, that's still a great monthly total!

So what is your spring marathon?

Your "slack" months are still more than my better months... sheesh... show off! Nah, I know that it is all scheduling. I know that one day, I too might have that consecutive 100+ month

I am glad that I am having my best year ever...
